Lorraine Fletcher Irish Artist graduated from the University of Ulster, Belfast with a degree in Fine Art & Design 2002. After pursuing a career in the design field for many years she returned to painting and now works from her studio in Galway following the dream. Acrylic on canvas is her preferred medium, for the vibrancy and effects that can be achieved. She is inspired by animals and nature, her paintings are a combination of bright colours and quirky compositions. The first exhibition was held in Galway City Museum 2008 and since then she has exhibited in Ireland and France.

The latest works are based on woodland animals through a bright and contemporary view. Stags, foxes and hares are some of the subjects in this collection, focusing on the facial expressions and with the aim to portray their beauty, strength and vulnerability. Each painting is titled to best portray the thought and meaning behind the work. The use of colour is probably one of the most important stages in my work. Adding colours where they would not normally be seen, bring the animals to life.
